 Welcome to the Sassafras River Business Council (SRBC)

We are a non-profit Organization founded to support local businesses in and around the Sassafras River communities. We serve the local towns of Cecilton, Galena, Georgetown, Earleville, Warwick, Fredericktown, Millington, Still Pond, and Betterton. The SRBC serves both Cecil and Kent County Maryland. So make it a point to stop by and visit with us. We are small businesses in small towns with big welcome mats.

 Galena Dogwood Festival - Celebrating the War of 1812 Bicentennial





Join us Saturday May 12, 2012 for the annual
Galena Dogwood Festival.

Festivities begin at 8 AM with the 2nd Annual Dogwood Dash 5k Run/Walk at Colchester Farm, followed by the parade on Main Street at 10 AM. Immediately following the parade the Festival begins at Dogwood Park with over 30 crafters, food vendors, and children's activities. NEW this year - at the Children's Talent Contest we will select the new "DOGWOOD IDOL"

And don't forget to check out the SRBC sponsored Antique Car Show in Dogwood Plaza from 11-3PM

 SECOND SATURDAYS IN GALENA 2012 SEASON



To kickoff our second season of Second Saturdays in Galena the SRBC will be hosting a Beer & Wine Garden behind Galena Antiques Center at 108 N. Main St. from 2-8PM with live entertainment by Sandcreek from 3-8PM in front of Scoop De Ville on North Main Street.

REMEMBER - SHOPS AND RESTAURANTS OPEN LATE EVERY SECOND SATURDAY IN GALENA!

THE 2012 TASTE OF THE SASSAFRAS WILL BE HELD FRIDAY SEPT. 14th 2012 UNDER THE KITTY KNIGHT HOUSE TENT IN GEORGETOWN, MD

TICKETS WILL GO ON SALE JULY 15th 2012


The SRBC will host the second annual "Taste of the Sassafras" on September 14, 2012 from 7-9 pm to be held under the tent at the Kitty Knight House overlooking the Sassafras River. Our theme this year will be celebrating the bicentennial of the War of 1812.

The event will showcase the best our local restaurants and caterers have to offer. Some of the featured vendors will be Sisters By Chance Catering, Galena's Kitchen, Twinney's Place, Sassafras Harbor Cafe, Molly Masons, Crow Farm, Maryland's Herb Basket,and the Saleyard Cafe.
